Leafy Art

One thing that I love about fall are the color changing leaves!  I used to hate raking the leaves, but now I kind of enjoy it it with the fresh air and smells and my rubber galoshes.

With leaves comes leaf art! And yes, if you don't leave a breath between saying leaf and art, it sounds like you said fart. I know you all just said it really fast to hear it! Lol.

Last year I subbed in a class that did wax leaves. My post last year talked about it.

Another post last year was with about kindergartners and me reading Fresh Fall Leaves. I free handed some leaves for them to color.

One of my favorite books to read is Leaf Man by Lois Elhert.
                                                                       

I haven't had the opportunity to make leaf people yet, but the class I was in on Friday were finishing leaf art for parent conferences this week.

First they picked a leaf shape and colored it.

Then they glued yarn around the ends. Don't you love how the green leaf has 'moldy' brown parts?
