Ever wonder what others think of you or what they say? I normally don't care but I found out yesterday by some kids what others think of me and it is actually interesting lol.
Apparently I'm known for two things: my books and my Mad Libs (aka silly stories).
I'm not the sticker teacher or the Jolly Rancher teacher. I don't want kids hyped up on sugar! How cool is it that I'm known for books!?!? That makes me so happy. The kids said they looks forward to me subbing because they want to know what books I'll have. Or my 'silly stories'. Which cracks me up because they are honestly learning with giving me nouns, adjectives, verbs, etc. It can help make their writing better.
So I'm known for my stories and books. What are you known for?

I'm a little afraid to find out - but it could be very telling. I know other teachers know me for my interest in writing, because I'm the chair of our writing cadre. But the kids? OH! I love bees. That's lame, but it's probably that.

Lol. I found out that some teachers were politely arguing over me, about who got me lol.
DeleteIt's interesting though. One kid said I'm nice, fair, and a good listener.
I love MadLibs too, but haven't used them in a class- what a great idea!!!

I found out I'm also known for smiling lol. I guess I could be known for worse!
DeleteCongrats to you!! How fabulous to be known for books and to know that the kiddies love to have you because you do such fun (but educational) stuff with them!! SO COOL!! Not sure I would like to know what I am known for...this week I am sure the words grouchy and cranky would appear more than once :( Happy weekend ahead ~ xx
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend to you too!
DeleteI LOVE mad-libs! Always have, always will! I use those with my kids too. I am known for making games out of things. I like to have fun (while learning)-yes, they can be combined!! :)

Thanks for stopping by Jen!
DeleteI'm known for my robots and Potato Heads. I get the kiddos to "build" a virtual robot - they earn one piece every time I catch them being good. If they complete the robot by the end of the day, they get free time. I also do this with Mr Potato Head (a great idea I picked up from Sub Hub) - they love it!
ReplyDeleteI'm also known for the way I speak. At the moment a lot of my assignments are in South East Wales, where the accent is diluted. I come from the Welsh Valleys where the accent is much stronger. I regularly get referred to as "the Welsh One"(!!) because I sound different to them... Love it!
Oh I didn't know Sub Hub talked about Mr. Potato Head too. I had a blog post about him not too long ago.
