I am happy to share this bright idea I picked up while subbing and am now using in my class (I really should add more to it!)
What I did was cut up the neon sentence strips and wrote the months on them. I made sure I had space before I put them up, for all the months.
I only put graphs, but that was a big part of October for us, plus this was my first full month in my class. I want to put more for each month, maybe something from math, social studies, and reading.
Small item=big memory. The kids could tell you right now that's from Brazil during our world culture unit (which we're still doing!)
September we studied government, those are the three branches, bar graphs and data in October, rocks and minerals in November, world cultures in Dec., etc.
My kids often glance up and say, "Remember when we did...". I also want to include pictures of the students in action too!

I love the idea of a timeline of learning and memories! What I REALLY love is thinking that Sweet "Ms. T." has her very own classroom. Such a smile-maker!

What a great way to help them remember what they've learned, PLUS a great way to understand what a timeline is!
